Subject to the final approval of the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, the European Media Art Platform (EMAP) invites artists, artist duos, collectives, and artistic collaborations working in digital, media, robotic, and bio art to apply with a project proposal for a two-month residency taking place between April and December 2026.
The residency programme includes an invitation to the kick-off conference and networking meeting in Braga, Portugal (8–9 May 2026), a stipend of €4,000 (including living expenses), an additional €2,000 stipend for a collaborating artist or duo partner, a production budget of €4,000, free accommodation, travel expenses, and free access to the technical facilities and/or media labs of the host institution.
In addition, the residency programme includes a professional presentation of the developed work and opportunities to participate in future festivals and exhibitions organised by EMAP members, as well as the possibility of being presented by more than 150 EMAP partner institutions worldwide.
HOST ORGANISATIONS
Artists apply to the EMAP consortium as a whole and indicate their preferred host organisations in order of priority.
